October 22, 2008 Declaration by the French Presidency on behalf of the European Union is confusing and disappointing. The substance of the election process, as well as the opinion of international observers, including those from EU, are profoundly distorted, and existing realities replaced by bias. Such a partial approach does not reflect the will of Azerbaijani people, contradicts the nature of existing relations between Azerbaijan and EU and will not facilitate strengthening of trust.
