FIRST REGIONAL VISIT BY AMBASSADOR TAGHIZADE

Olomouc, August 5, 2009 Today Ambassador Taghizade has completed his two day visit to Olomouc region aiming at establishing contacts with the leadership there, as well as getting acquainted with the state of affairs within Azerbaijani Diaspora residing in that region.

Ambassador held a meeting with Martin Tesarik, President of Olomouc region.

During the meeting sides exchanged information on history, tourism potential, economic indicators of Azerbaijan's Ganja and Czech Republic's Olomouc regions. Ambassador and President discussed possibilities for establishing cooperation covering all fields between the two regions. Studying possibilities at the Palackeho University, as well as delivering lectures on Azerbaijan's history, literature, and architecture was also touched upon.

Ambassador Taghizade held next meeting with Azerbaijani Diaspora living in that region. Ambassador praised their active involvement in social life of the region and vowed to render needed assistance in any relevant endeavor. Diaspora members also informed Ambassador about their problems.

Ambassador Taghizade completed his visit with hopes that it will facilitate development of cooperation between Ganja and Olomouc regions.
