NATIONAL DAY OF AZERBAIJAN MARKED IN PRAGUE

Prague,27 May, 2009 Today the Embassy has hosted a reception on the occasion of National Day of Azerbaijan in "Prague Intercontinental Hotel".

The event was attended by Premysl Sobotka, President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Eduard Janota, Minister of Finance, Deputy Ministers of Culture, Trade and Industry, high-level officials of the Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Defense, Czech Ambassador to Azerbaijan, members of Parliament, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Prague, media and business representatives, academicians, as well as Azeri students and members of the Azerbaijani diaspora.

Addressing the event Ambassador Taghizade informed participants about measures taken towards strengthening democracy and economy in Azerbaijan, as well as touched upon current state of affairs and prospects in relations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic.

Premysl Sobotka congratulating Azerbaijan with this solemn date said that Azerbaijan was a very important state for the Czech Republic and that cooperation between two was of strategic importance.
