AZERBAIJAN'S FAMOUS SCRIPTWRITER VISITS PRAGUE
Prague, 27 March 2009 Rustam Ibrahimbekov, Oscar-winning scriptwriter behind the movies like "Barber of Siberia" and "Burnt by the Sun" has paid a five-day visit to the Czech Republic from March 23, 2009.
First day of the visit was marked by his recital in "Ypsilon Studio" theater of Prague. Audience enjoyed fragments from movies scripted by maestro and was given a chance to ask questions. Moreover, Karel Kramar medal that Mr.Ibrahimbekov was awarded by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic due to his efforts in developing Azerbaijani-Czech relations was handed over to him.
Next day Mr.Ibrahimbekov's play "Bunin's last stand" was staged at "Ypsilon Studio" by actors of Baku "Ibrus" theater.
Those events were attended by 250 persons, including members of the Czech Parliament, officials of Foreign Ministry and other Government bodies, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Prague, as well as members of Azerbaijani Diaspora.
The day before his departure, Mr. Ibrahimbekov paid a visit to Azerbaijan and Caspian Studies Center at the Masaryk University in Brno and addressed audience consisting mostly of students.
In the last day of the visit "Fabiofest" held a special recognition for Mr.Ibrahimbekov.
