Tahir T. TAGHIZADEH


Born on August 11, 1967 in Gorkiy, USSR.

Graduated cum laude from School of International Relations at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1989.

1989-1990 - intern at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union.

1990-1995 - secretary-archivist, attaché, then 3rd secretary at the USSR (Russian Federation) Consulate-General in Brno, CSFR (later - Czech Republic).

1996-1997 - 2nd Secretary of the Department of Europe, US and Canada at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

1997-2004 - 2nd, 1st secretary, then Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United States of America.

2005-2007 - Director, Department of Press and Information Policy, Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.

From 22 February 2007 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic

Working languages: Azeri (fluent); English (fluent); Russian (fluent); Czech (fluent); Slovak (some); Turkish (some).

Hobbies include: writing poetry; music, movies and literature.

Married.
